  What is an Optional holiday? Optional Holiday is explained as a holiday declared by the Indian Government in order to accommodate the religious benefits of the employees so that the employee may take leave on that particular day. Optional holidays are not applied to government offices or companies but only to employees with respect to their religious festivals. Optional holiday states that the holiday is optional and it depends on the employee whether they want to take leave on that particular day or not.
